Project Overview

The Client: A rapidly growing multi-specialty clinic chain in Mumbai with over 50,000 active patients.

The Problem: Their legacy patient management system was fragmented, causing long wait times, missed appointments, and data synchronization errors. They needed a unified, secure digital platform to manage patient records, streamline appointments, and offer remote video consultations during the post-pandemic shift.

The Goal: To build a scalable, HIPAA-compliant web portal that allows patients to book appointments, view lab reports, and consult doctors online—all through an intuitive mobile-first interface accessible to elderly users.

Challenges & Solutions

• Data Security & Compliance: The most critical requirement was ensuring full HIPAA compliance. We implemented end-to-end encryption (AES-256) for all patient data, both in transit and at rest, and set up strict role-based access controls (RBAC) to prevent unauthorized access.
• Accessibility for All Ages: Since a significant portion of the user base was elderly, the UI/UX design had to be incredibly simple. We adhered to WCAG 2.1 AAA standards, using high-contrast colors, large typography, and screen-reader compatibility.
• Real-Time Telemedicine: Integrating high-quality video consultation without lag was a challenge. We utilized WebRTC for peer-to-peer video streaming and WebSockets for real-time chat, ensuring a smooth experience even on low-bandwidth connections.
• Scalability & Localization: The system needed to support multiple languages (English, Hindi, Marathi) and handle peak loads during flu seasons. We built a microservices architecture on AWS with auto-scaling groups to manage demand efficiently.
